WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Welcome to meshed locs!!

Mesh is my nickname, mesh also means a structure of connected strands of anything in this case, hair. Hence the name meshed locs.

The aim of meshed locs is to provide local tips according to what has worked for me and what hasn't. Most tips and information available online are from outside Kenya and most products may not be available locally.

If you look closely at my locs you will notice some gross white stuff. Its the build up caused by using moulding wax/gel and the wrong products for a long time.So I decided to cut them off and start a new set.

I started this blog to share with you my loc journey and the tips to start and maintain locs. Topics will range from loc maintenance, my loc journey updates, some of my clients loc journies, how to start your locs, how to style your natural hair and locs, product review, dos an don'ts and so much more.

I will also give you some natural HOW TO hacks for your hair and skin.

Enjoy your reading!

Yours Loc head,
Mesh.

So this past two days I have been having a rough time trying to keep my baby locs down. I know, they just want to stay up. So I came up with a few styles to get you through the awkward stages of baby locs.  This is a simple style.Just hold up a few locs at the back then use a head band to hold them in place. You don't have to stress over your one month or two months old locs.   Another style for baby locs is the mohawk. This one is pretty simple too and will go with any outfit for many ocassions.  Another style is using head bands to accesorize. You can have them in different colours. This will go well with starter locs.  You can  also use  a head band with a bow to add style to your locs. Especially if you have thick hair or locs.   You can also simply put a flower on the side to bring a simple ...

How to remove dark spots and make your skin tone even.

Hey good people! We all want that beautiful skin right? We constantly visit the stores looking for skin lighteners, scrubs, cleansers and we end up getting frustrated when they don't work to our expectations. Well, I have some good news for you. Potato. Yes,potato. It has a property that is capable of making your skin tone even, free of acne and clearing dark spots. So take a potato and grate it, sing the finer side. You want to get as much juice as possible.   The end result will look like this. Pour it in a small bowl, slice a lemon into two and squeeze it in to form a mixture.   Apply the mixture on the prefered area. Face, neck, hands, dark thighs and dark knuckles snd let it sit for 30 minutes then wash off with cold water. Apply twice a week for better results. This works 100%. It is safe and natural. NB*: If your skin is sensitive use honey instead of lemon.   Click here to watch the video

HOW TO STYLE YOUR NATURAL HAIR

Its been a long time for many of us trying to manipulate our natural hair, by putting relaxers, weaves, wigs, human hair, braiding and so on and so forth. Its until we embrace our natural hair that we can truly experience the divinity of our existence. Well, sometimes we have limited styles to try on natural hair and I am here to help you add to your favourite style so that you can have a variety to choose from the next time you want to style your hair. My personal favourite, and my first ever natural hair style that actually made sense is this : It was inspired by this one and I guess I nailed it, don't  you think? hehe. Anyway, this one is good especially with short and medium hair. It will add length and volume to your hair.Use a slim head band to make a wide bun. Then tuck in the hairs on the bun using a pattern of your choice. *  This one is a simple one t...
