HOW TO STYLE YOUR NATURAL HAIR

Hello there.

When I styled my natural hair for the first time, it was very fulfilling to accept and embrace it. Its been a long time for many of us trying to manipulate our natural hair, by putting relaxers, weaves, wigs, human hair, braiding and so on and so forth. Its until we embrace our natural hair that we can truly experience the divinity of our existence.

Well, sometimes we have limited styles to try on natural hair and I am here to help you add to your favourite style so that you can have a variety to choose from the next time you want to style your hair.

My personal favourite, and my first ever natural hair style that actually made sense is this :

It was inspired by this one and I guess I nailed it, don't  you think? hehe. Anyway, this one is good especially with short and medium hair. It will add length and volume to your hair.Use a slim head band to make a wide bun. Then tuck in the hairs on the bun using a pattern of your choice.

*  This one is a simple one too. Divide your hair into two  sections. It could be at the center or on the sides. Hold each side and roll the hair towards the back then hold it with a hair band or you can circle in the hair and tuck it together.

 * For this one, repeat the above steps but instead of rolling it backwards you twist big hair sections and circle the hair in together at the back.

You can also plait the sections.

*This one is pretty simple espcially if you have thick short or medium hair. Use a head band to hold the hair in a bun  and accesorize with a flower. You can match the flower  with your outfit. Its ideal for wedding, baby showers or just a simple date.

* A high twist bun.Use a hairband to hold the hair in a high bun.Twist your hair into sections, then circle the twists around the hair band to form a bun.The twists don't have to be perfect, its all about adding style to the bun.

*Hold your hair at the back and use a head band to accesorize.

Or instead of a head band, divide the front into two sections and twist each section. Roll the rest of the hair to  the side and hold it together with the twists.

*This one is a quick hairdo. Hold you hair in a simpe bun, then use cantu cream to curl the your baby hairs along the hair line.

* A simple bun with a frontal tuck.

*High buns are trending too.

* Cantu twist outs/ knot outs.

Twisting your natural hair using cantu gel and twisting them out has also become a common classy style. Some prefer bantu knots .You can keep them on overnight or use a drier to dry the knots/ twists before taking them out.

*You can also do bantu knot outs or twists out using cantu cream only on the front. And hold the rest of the hair in a bun.

*For short natural hair, use a thin head band to hold your hair from the front. Then using a comb, untuck the front section from the head band sparingly in an upward motion. It adds style and length to short hair.

*Afro hair.
You can simply just wash your hair and comb it in an afro or do bantu knot outs or twist outs with cantu gel and undo them to achieve this look.

* Head wraps and headbands have also become trendy nowadays.

You can do all this styles on your own. They are very simple. I hope you get to try out a few.

Cheers!!

5 BABY LOCS STYLES

Hello peeps. I must admit this rain and the cold got me really bad. My fingers get numb everytime I start typing. Just kidding. I missed you anyway. So this past two days I have been having a rough time trying to keep my baby locs down. I know, they just want to stay up. So I came up with a few styles to get you through the awkward stages of baby locs.  This is a simple style.Just hold up a few locs at the back then use a head band to hold them in place. You don't have to stress over your one month or two months old locs.   Another style for baby locs is the mohawk. This one is pretty simple too and will go with any outfit for many ocassions.  Another style is using head bands to accesorize. You can have them in different colours. This will go well with starter locs.  You can  also use  a head band with a bow to add style to your locs. Especially if you have thick hair or locs.   You can also simply put a flower on the side to bring a simple ...

What is the difference between dreadlocs, sisterlocs and brotherlocs?

DREADLOCS Dreadlocs are simply hair that has been matted together and can be formed using various methods. SISTERLOCS They are smaller than dreadlocs and their installation takes longer than that of dreadlocs.Probably twice or thrice longer. BROTHERLOCS Brotherlocs are similar to sisterlocs but are a bit larger although smaller than traditional locs. Can you unlock dreadlocs, sisterlocs and brotherlocs? Some people claim its possible but in real sense its difficult and leads to too much breakage. Most people just chop off their locs when they don't want them anymore. So what kind of locs do you have? Stay blessed!

TO USE WAX OR NOT?

For a long time now, I have been battling with the same question. Many of my clients and friends have also asked me about wax and which is the best method to maintain locs. First of all wax or moulding gel is the most common method of locs maintenance. For the simple reason that it keeps the locs looking neat and smooth. But just like everything else, it has its pros and cons. From a personal experience, using wax in excessive amounts will damage your locs, they will start having build up (the whitish stuff) and it’s really hard to get it out. Your locs will appear untidy and you may even start hating them to the point of wanting to cut them. If you want to use wax for your retouch, please visit your loctitian, he or she will know the right amount of wax to use in retouching your locs and the right way to dry them. If the wax is not dried properly, it will stick to your locs and form build up. Apparently, some fellas opt to retouch their locs on their own as a way of saving money. T...
