Hey loves!
I feel so jelous of my locs today. They got so much attention from me!From massage, dye, conditioning, masking and just letting it relax. They must be super happy today!!
Having blonde hair has been my thing for years. It defines my hair and me as a person. But one tricky thing with hair dye is that it can easily damage your locs. Your locs become dry and prone to breakage.
You can avoid all this misfortunes by conditioning and moisturizing your locs properly. Dyed locs require extra care or else they will start thinning or even falling off!!
Just to break it down for you, this is how I treated and conditioned my locs after applying dye.
*After applying the dye, I rinsed off with cold water and dried my locs with a towel.
* I then used nice and lovely treatment (for the first time)- I am trying out new products to see which works best on my locs before I settle on one treatment.
* After the treatment I sat under a drier for 10 minutes. Then rinsed it off.
*For conditioning,I melted the coconut oil in warm water( do not melt it over the microwave,it will lose its quality) and applied it evenly in my locs from the roots and massaged through the scalp. I put on a shower cap and let it rest for 30 mins then washed if off with warm water. Be sure to shampoo your locs twice to get rid of all the oil.
*I let my hair air dry and used STYLIN' DREADS moisture splash to finish. This moisture splash helps in softening and moisturizing locs.
My locs look happy and soft. I can't wait to give it another treat soon.
Do you treat or condition your locs? How often? If you don't, its not too late to start. Healthy locs don't just happen, you have to take care of your locs like you do your nails or face.
Here is a video of how I have learnt to embrace and love my locs.
Happy holidays!!
