10 Vaseline hacks that you should know.

Hey there We have all grown up using vaseline in one way or another. Either as babies or before we knew about lotions and creams. If you are a mom you know that vaseline can be used to prevent diaper rash.If you have had a common cold you know that vaseline is applied on the nose to prevent your nose from getting sore. You also know that when you cut or burn yourself in the kitchen you apply vaseline on the affected area to prevent infection. This shows that indeed vaselise is a 'power jelly' However, there are other several uses of VASELINE that you may or may not know. 1. Removing matte lipstick If you have tried using huddah, sleek, black opal, kylie and afeiya matte lipsticks/ lipgloss (among others), you will know that they are sticky and stubborn to come off. Simply apply vaseline on your lips then use a cloth or tissue to wipe it off, the lipstick clears intantly. 2.Vaseline as a  Facial moisturizer . No, vaseline does not clog pores. It is a non- comedogenic (meaning ...

MY LOC CARE REGIME

Hello! I am extremely excited to write today as I got to hold my short locs in a tiny ponytail for the first time since I started my second set of locs.  My friends and I were laughing when I said that trying to hold short hair in a ponytail is like trying to force a relationship.Lol my ribs are still hurting.Haha.  Enough about me, how are you today? I hope you are well and keeping that positive energy alive in you. So how is your Loc care routine like? Mine is as simple as abc. *Shampoo I use the Alana anti- dandruff shampoo . It has a sweet smell and leaves your scalp dandruff free. -I also use Zoe apple shampoo *Conditioner Olive oil ( Nourishing sheen spray). It provides natural, healthy shine to dry and thirsty hair. *Oils. Coconut oil This is my favourite oil. It stimulates hair growth and reduces itching. I also use it to massage my scalp. Scalp massage increases blood flow to your scalp which results in hair growth. *Royal beeswax NB. This ...

COLGATE HACKS FOR DARK SPOTS.

Hello good people. So last week I had this pimple that was really stressing me up. Before I knew it, another one had formed. If you have had a pimple or two you are aware that once it dries, it leaves a freaky dark spot/spots on your face. So I tried this colgate hack, its a weird one but tell you what, it worked. Apparently colgate can be used to treat acne and dark spots. As funny as it sounds, its so for real. * Simply put colgate on a cotton swap and apply the toothpaste on the affected area. Wait for a couple of minutes and wash off your face with cold water. Do this everyday until the spots are gone. Well, this will not suit everyone. If it irritates your skin, stop using it. Always do a patch test before applying anything new on your skin. * You can mix the toothpaste with sugar and rub the mixture on your face in a gentle circular manner. This will get rid of dark spots and acne really fast. Well, my two dark spots are gone. It worked for me. Hope it works for yo...

Should you dye your locs or not?

Hey. I have been a big fan of colour especially gold/blonde on my locs. In 2012, I sure did not know much about colour. In 2013, I thought that you can only colour the tips. Over the years of my loc journey, my locs were covered with build up because of  using too much wax. After I coloured them, they looked better. This brings me to share with you some reasons that could make you want to colour your locs. 1. To cover up lint and build up. Lint is the white strands of fabric that stick to your hair if its not well protected. Build up is the whitish stuff stuck to your locs due to too much wax or the use of the wrong products. 2. The cool look . Its 2017, everything about colour is cool. I used to see only gold or brown locs. Now people are doing green, red, blue, ombre among others. Well I am always tempted to try the green one. 3. Helps you to listen to your hair . Dye will break make your  hair weak and dry. So if you dye it, you will need to moisturize your locs more...

5 BABY LOCS STYLES

Hello peeps. I must admit this rain and the cold got me really bad. My fingers get numb everytime I start typing. Just kidding. I missed you anyway. So this past two days I have been having a rough time trying to keep my baby locs down. I know, they just want to stay up. So I came up with a few styles to get you through the awkward stages of baby locs.  This is a simple style.Just hold up a few locs at the back then use a head band to hold them in place. You don't have to stress over your one month or two months old locs.   Another style for baby locs is the mohawk. This one is pretty simple too and will go with any outfit for many ocassions.  Another style is using head bands to accesorize. You can have them in different colours. This will go well with starter locs.  You can  also use  a head band with a bow to add style to your locs. Especially if you have thick hair or locs.   You can also simply put a flower on the side to bring a simple ...

5 To Knows before starting locs/dreads

Hey peeps. I have been getting a lot of questions about locs ..If they are permanent or not or if they can be combed out, and I could sense the fear and uncertainty people have about having locs. They don't know what to expect or wether they will start missing their straight hair or not . I figured out this To Knows during my loc journey in my first set of locs and in my second set. 1. The big chop To really get it right, you have to cut off your chemically processed(permed) hair. Its a difficult and awkward decision but worth it if you want to get healthier locs. However if you have natural hair you can start locs with that length of hair, no need of cutting it off, but be ready for a bit of shrinkage as your hair begins to lock. 2. Your hair won't loc immediately Locing hair is not the same as braiding or weaving. The results are not instant. It will take from 3 to 6 months depending on the texture of your hair. However, there is a method called instant locing that wil...
